There were English spelling mistakes in the Poshite Yid album. You need to have someone proofread it. (You have an "extended" family not an "extented" family!!)

Next time you come out with an album I would do it for free. Yau, Yau, I'm serious! Really.....

I can't translate the Yiddish into English but I don't think you can add more pages to the album booklet. After you thanked everyone except Bloomberg and McCain there is no way you can add more; you would have to make into a sefer. Better, put an English transation on the web site.

Hi Lipa,

I was at Motty Illovitch's kiddush this Shabbos in the Malluchim Shul. After all motty is such a sweet mentchele, and we were all so happy for him. It was very nice of you, too, to shlep over to willy for this special simcha.

I just wanna say one point: You were leading the oilem in beautiful singing, we sang your songs, Reb Shlomo Z''L, other holy heimishe shabbos songs.

Now "Maluchim" is perhaps the frummest shul in willy. Its a Bnei Yoel /Kasho crowd. The Davenen there is very holy and uplifting, people learn there all day, the kids there go to the best Cheders, every Purim they burn the Israeli flag publicly on Lee Avenue - (Did you notice that all the liquer on the table had a Hechsher? Yes. Otherwise they dont drink it) etc etc.

And when Lipa was singing, SURPRISE! No one said anything! To the contrary, all of them were singing and dancing along! (I noticed that all the people there were so nice and respectful to you! they all came to give you L'chaim and take from your Vodka....)

People that would kill you for carrying in the eruv danced with Lipa! People that five minutes ago were crying by Keser were clapping to "HEIB OF DANA HENTELECH" (BTW, your on-the-spot gramen for Motty was something special! Everyone was amazed) They really seemed to enjoy your talent and energy!

I guess the really frum people still love you. Its the fakers that give you problems....

Dear Lipa,

I am sitting here with pen in hand, thinking of one of the most wonderful experiences I have felt. Although somewhat belated, I needed this time to collect my thoughts and convey my heartfelt gratitude for a job done beyond perfection.

You've done many outstanding weddings and events in the past. However; the Tirnauer Mitzva Tanz is something that will go down in history as something spectacular. You completely outdid yourself from the beginning to end.

Looking around at a room of 250 people listening intently, you could hear a pin drop. The crowd was enamored by the way you described the Chesed of the Chosson and his parents. The deep emotion that you brought out describing each person called up to dance was amazing. You brought tears to even the most stoic ones there. Everyone was entertained until all hours.

Although the wedding lasted until all hours of the night, the crowd just stayed on. Nobody felt like missing out a part of the spectacular mitzvah tanz. I am thanking you from the bottom of my heart for going out of your way to make this wedding extra special. The Tirnauers' are my extended family and therefore I appreciate what you did for them as if it were my own Simcha.

Keep up your great work in making people happy at their most joyous times of life. May we share in many more Simchos together.

Dear lipa,

I like music and for the past year I've been playing guitar pretty well. After the beginners stage there is a whole new "msechte" of bar chords. Basically it means that you bar (hold down) the strings here and there to create a whole new range of advanced, sophisticated, deep, chords.

Anyway, its kind of hard to learn that (physically at first then to know what to do) and I never had anything to push me to learn it. I became bored because on the first level its not too interesting.

Until you came along with your magnificent new CD and website with all the sheet music. And I loved your songs so much and I was dying to play Yoimom Valyalu, and Wake Up! And poshiter yid and I pushed myself and it happenned!

All these notes are written for bands with complicated chords - but yes! I am making progress and I guess next time you come to willy I'll have to teach you some more chords.

Hi Lipa, if this is you I hope,
I'm a 19 year old girl, trying to do my best and be the best that I can be.
But it's really not easy, and as hard as i try, outside things always pop up blocking my path.

The main things that i try to focus on are making myself closer to Hashem and doing what's right in His eyes, and not caring what others will think as long as i'm doing what's right.

But as i said it's not always easy, and as life gets tougher with every turn i could use all the inspiration i can get.
There were 2 songs that i heard on your new cd, which i think have the potential to really really inspire me about relying only on Hashem, and not focusing on others: 1) the Hyp Of...Hintalach and 2) track 4, yener, about not looking at the others, only yourself.

Problem is, i don't really understand yiddish at all.
so my question is, is there any way i can get the english translation to those songs?
i wish i could understand them. the little that i was able to understand sounded so REAL.

I still listen to the CD's, and I realized then that one day you will become a big star.

1. I heard the whole explanation that you gave (and in fact I was the one who emailed in the question) on Zev Brenner about "A Yid Winks By Havdallah" that if you'd go into this goys mind he'd think we're crazy on all the strange things that it looks like we're doing (like waving our hands by Havdallah), yet we know that there is a higher purpose between us and Hashem. Fine. But my question is: When you say that the Yid "WINKS By Havdallah" are you just referring to the Yid waving his hands at the candle and that's what you mean by WINK? Or is there some ACTUAL MINHAG that some people ACTUALLY WINK by Havdallah?

2. How do you translate the word "FARTZAYIN" into English? It's in the Hentelach song, right before you mention "Rebuilding The Holy House". I asked Yiddish speaking people and they don't know what it means.

3. In "Yomum Va'Lailah" You say "R"i, R"i, Marsha, V'Rif, Marshash, Maharam Shif." Firstly, which R"i are you referring to? Also, You said in an interview that even if it ryhmed better you didn't put 2 people together who lived hundreds of years apart. But isn't the Rif a Rishon and the Marsha and Maharam Shif Achronim?

1) We don't "wink" by Havadala - we "vink", which means waving in Yiddish. We wave our fingers to the Ner Havdalah.

2) From the root of "Forgive Us".

3) The R"I is the one you think I am mentioning about. And the reason the Achronim are mentioned with Rishonim is because those are all meforshim we learn in the Gemara (the other meforshim are all on th e Mitzvos.)

Just now, right before Shabbos, someone forgot to put the Kishka in the Chulent. Somebody else just happened to walk in the room singing the Diet song to themselves, "Shlishka, Kishka, Salami, Pastrami.............." Because of that, the Kishka was remembered to be put in and now I'll hopefully have a Geshmaka Chulent L'Kovid Shabbos Koidesh, thanks to YOU. Also, one time I was driving on a long trip and your music was playing. The mp3 player was set to shuffle where the songs play randomly. By a "Kah- incidence" the T'filas Haderech song came on and we remembered to say it. Lastly, I once started playing Rabosai and the guy next to me said "Oh right, that reminds me, I gotta Bentch. These are just 3 incidents involving me. Imagine how many other times people were reminded to do Mitzvahs and to do the right thing because of YOU. All in your Zechus.

I just want to give you feedback on what a positive, meaningful difference you can make to people. We were not yet blessed with children, but Shabbos is a time for singing and happiness even if you don't have kids at the table. So every Shabbos after the seuda, me and my dear wife sit down with your booklet and sing your warm, encouraging songs of meaning and feeling. Songs like Poshiter Yid, Shelo Osani Goy, and Carry On. We sing it together and we take in the message of pride to be Hashems children, to be the lucky chosen people who observe the Shabbos, who can learn Torah, who can pray and be so close to God Almighty, who can have the Schina in our home, and who can keep a kosher home life. And in the toughest times and hardest stages, we are not lost and we can keep going.
If that's not the most beautiful thing in the world -I don't know what is.

My father just bought your new CD and and he played it tonight it was just AMAZING! But this cd teaches a bigger lesson one many people need to re-learn. Even a simple jew can do good things and means alot to Hashem - I feel like you've brought back the light of the Baal Shem Tov into the world. I spoke with my father about your music and he explanied to me how one can do so much yet still be misunderstood. From what I've read your road hasn't been easy but yet nothing in life is. I daven that you have lots of bracha in all you do. May you only have hazlcha and brachah in all you do and may Hashem always bless you in all you do. If in music or other wise your music and songs help me see (especially your new CD) that a yid is a yid no matter what. Thanks for everything and keep up the good work. In response to Lipa's question: I thought that the question shouldn't really be whether or not it's good that Lipa is providing us with this site, no doubt about it! Sure it is!

But the question rather is, 'WHY IS IT GOOD?' and my answer to that is: We all 'Yiddishe kinder' who believe in the 'koach hanegina' & the power of hapiness, know that Lipa has a special power to uplift and make happy every single soul. He inspires me, my friends and Klal Yisroel every time we listen to him and watch him performing with his whole heart and soul. That gives us a tremendous amount of 'chizuk', and inspires us to go on.

So by launching this new website, you are giving us the ability to stay connected as one big family, inspire one another, be 'mechazek' one another and smile to one another, through the cracks of the internet.

So thanks from the bottom of my heart, for the inspiration, and for the shelter you are providing us, right here between the www. and the .com, where we really need that 'sh'mireh' 'b'ruchniyus u'b'gashmiyus'.

For one thing more people will know about lipa the genious singer badchan composer and much more.
No joking, he is probably the best jewish hassidic singer today in the world and he could be more popular than even Fried and MBD.
This way if we have a website we will be able to hear about lipa and know about him more.
